Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist and presidential candidate, alleged that former President Muhammadu Buhari attempted to assassinate him on multiple occasions. This statement came in response to Femi Adesina's claim that Buhari's government could have killed Nnamdi Kanu but opted for his extradition from Kenya.
Adesina, in his recently launched book, "Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015-2023)," revealed that Buhari chose to spare Kanu's life during a meeting with Igbo elders who requested his release.
Sowore took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to express that, in addition to Kanu, Buhari also attempted to kill him, raising concerns about how many other Nigerians Buhari may have considered assassinating during his eight years in power.
Sowore's tweet emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "They tried to kill me many times. It's mind boggling!"
